Melissa McRae

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Dr. Melissa McRae, DNP, MBA, APRN, PMHNP-BC, CNE is an ANCC Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Dr. McRae completed her undergraduate nursing education at the University of North Florida and her graduate education at Jacksonville University, where she continues to serve as an Assistant Professor of Nursing.

After becoming a registered nurse in 2005, Dr. McRae has worked in pediatrics, clinical research, hospital leadership, and specialized in nursing student success. Her clinical preparation included the psychiatric care of children, psychiatric care of adults, and substance use treatment. She is passionate about providing mental health support to children so they can rise to their full potential through mindfulness, cognitive behavioral skills, psychoeducation, and medication management when indicated. Dr. McRae recognizes the importance of parents in the life of the child and takes a balanced approach to mental health that focuses on healthy choices, good communication skills, and strong parent-child bonds.
